Episode 3 – Out Foxed: Kristin and Linda are knee-deep in baby season, but each of them finds time to tend to animals requiring the utmost care and attention. Nancy rescues a brood of baby skunks, calling Linda for backup, and then shifts her attention to a Northern Flicker woodpecker suffering from a mysterious ailment.
Episode 4 – Oh Deer: Warmer weather marks the beginning of baby season, adding a new level of urgency to every wildlife call our rehabilitators receive. Now, there’s always the possibility that a female animal is pregnant or has offspring needing to be fed. Just across the state line, a pregnant deer gets caught in a fence, losing blood from a wounded leg. Linda arrives on the scene, and if she wants to save the doe and her unborn fawn, she must figure out how to subdue the animal without sending her further into shock. Nancy comes across a squirrel hit by a car, but despite immediate triage, the situation doesn’t look promising. An initial exam indicates the squirrel may be carrying babies, and head trauma is a major concern. With the help of their vet, Kristin and Grant stabilize a barred owl suffering from brain damage, but now they face a long road of rehabilitation to get her back in the air where she belongs.
