In the 30 years since the Broadwater Farm riots, Tottenham has seen the child abuse scandals of Baby P and Victoria Climbie, the shooting of Mark Duggan, and the summer 2011 riots. The constituent still faces challenges, many of which are dealt with by local MP David Lammy. This programme goes behind the scenes at his fortnightly advice surgery, which deals with thousands of problems a year, including the mysterious disappearance of a woman’s son, an immigrant whose wife is dying of liver cancer, a 22-year-old who is not eligible for a student loan, and a young mum who is fighting for her son’s life-saving operation.
